Some mornings I wake up to see the fog has rolled in and hangs low over the Rockfish Valley. Sometimes it is localized, and other times it covers the valley. On this day I threw my camera in the truck, got the dog in too, and went up on top of Afton Mountain to see the view. The one view is looking south down the valley, the other view is looking east towards C'ville. I have been wanting to capture this look for several years. Sometimes the timing is just right.
Summer Storm
While walking the dog before bedtime, I saw a large lightning storm forming to the west. I put my photo gear in the car and headed up the mountain. Ending up on Skyline Drive, I was able to get these images before the wind and rain hit.
